OURS SET OUT ON NORTH AMERICAN TOUR
WITH CIRCA SURVIVE
OURS THIRD STUDIO ALBUM, PRODUCED BY RICK RUBIN, IN STORES MARCH 2008 ON AMERICAN RECORDINGS/COLUMBIA RECORDS
(dateline - New York – October 9, 2007; source: American Recordings/Columbia Records) – New York based band Ours are gearing up to tour North America with Circa Survive. The tour kicks off on October 10th in Worcester, MA and wraps up on November 25th in Cleveland, OH (see below for full itinerary). Veterans of the road, Ours have toured with everyone from The Cult and The Wallflowers to Pete Yorn.
Mercy, the highly anticipated third studio album from Ours is set to be released on American Recordings/Columbia Records in March 2008. Produced by Rick Rubin (Linkin Park, System Of A Down, Red Hot Chili Peppers), Mercy showcases the band's signature lush, sweeping, and transcendent sound complimented by the incredible vocals of singer Jimmy Gnecco. Renowned for his incredible vocal range, Rolling Stone proclaimed "Gnecco's voice is a beautiful instrument, huge and emotional but never cloying."
Ours began in 1992, and built a strong following playing shows around New York City. By 1997, the band had sparked a label bidding war, and when the smoke settled, they signed a deal with Dreamworks Records. For their first record, Distorted Lullabies, the band worked with legendary producer Steve Lillywhite (U2, Rolling Stones, Morrissey). The record was released in 2001, and was met with beaming critical praise, and fervent fan appreciation. Their single "Sometimes" enjoyed heavy rotation at both radio and MTV2. Ours followed up Distorted Lullabies in 2002 with Precious, helmed by critically acclaimed producer, Ethan Johns (Kings Of Leon, Ryan Adams).
Ours are Jimmy Gnecco (vocals, guitars), Pit (drums), Static (guitars), Race (bass guitar) and Locke (guitar, keyboards).
