Press Release: HBO DOCUMENTARY RUN GRANNY RUN

RUN GRANNY RUN TELLS THE INSPIRATIONAL STORY OF

94- year-old DORIS “GRANNY D” HADDOCK’S RUN FOR U.S. SENATE

WHEN THE HBO DOCUMENTARY DEBUTS OCT. 18

Doris “Granny D” Haddock is America’s oldest political newcomer. At age 89, she refused to let arthritis and emphysema get in her way, lacing up her sneakers and walking across America to rally against the influence of big money in elections. Five years later, still fed up with politics as usual, the 94-year-old jumped at an unexpected chance to become the Democratic nominee in the New Hampshire U.S. Senate race, running against incumbent Republican Senator Judd Gregg. Entering the race just four months before Election Day, Haddock and her motley crew of political aces crafted a feisty, grassroots campaign that defied all expectations. RUN GRANNY RUN tells the remarkable story of Haddock’s unlikely transformation from renowned citizen activist to novice political candidate.

Proving that age, sex, and social standing don’t necessarily determine political campaigns, Run, Granny, Run shows the “everyman” (woman) can make a difference when it debuts THURSDAY, OCT. 18 at 9:00 p.m. ET, exclusively on HBO.
