You couldnt make this stuff up if you tried Lennon Murphy is a singer and a songwriter and an all around cool chick, her songs are an aural outpouring of her extreme, intense life with its ups and downs including tour bus accidents, fighting for the custody of her young sister after the death of their only parent, record industry fiascos and now shes being sued by Yoko Ono for the use of her own name.

Press Release: WAKE UP TO LOVE and STATION FAMILY FUND present FIFTH ANNIVERSARY RELIEF FUND CHARITY CONCERT
TOM SCHOLZ, AARON LEWIS, TWISTED SISTER, TESLA, STRYPER and others scheduled to perform with host DEE SNIDER, Monday, February 25, 2008
Tickets on sale this Friday, January 4, 2008
8 January 2008. Providence, Rhode Island: Tom Scholz (Boston), Aaron Lewis (Staind), Tesla, Twisted Sister, Stryper and others, along with host Dee Snider are scheduled to perform Monday, February 25, 2008 at Dunkin Donut Center in Providence, Rhode Island at the Fifth Anniversay Relief Fund Charity Concert.
The charity event marks the fifth anniversary of Station Nightclub tragedy in Rhode Island, the fourth largest nightclub fire in U.S. history. 100 lives were lost, 200 others were seriously injured and 65 children lost one or both parents. Five years later, funds available for the survivors are woefully inadequate. Only 15 survivors of the fire qualified for Social Security benefits, and many are still unable to meet their monthly needs.
The Station Family Fund, founded by survivors, family members and community members affected by the fire and the Wake Up To Love Foundation founded by Tesla drummer Troy Luccketta are event organizers. While one hundred thousand dollars was raised in 2005 from a benefit concert featuring Tesla, Shinedown, Pat Travers and Carmine Appice, those funds are in desperate need of replenishing.
All proceeds from ticket sales and charity auctions benefit the Station Family Fund, a non-profit 501 (c)(3) charitable organization founded by survivors of the Station Nightclub fire. The Station Family Fund is committed to providing survivor relief, including costs of ongoing treatment and rehabilitation.
Additional artists scheduled to perform on February 25 include Carmine Appice's SLAM, Eric Martin, Gary Hoey, Chicago drummer Danny Seraphine. Other artists will be announced over the next few weeks.
Organizers would like to acknowledge the incredible generosity of the Dunkin' Donuts Center www.dunkindonutscenter.com who has graciously donated the venue free of charge for the charity event as well as East Coast Lighting, WHJY and the many acts who are donating their time in putting together this event.
Tickets go on sale Friday, January 4, 2008 at Ticketmaster.com. Prices range from $41.00 to $61.00.

Press Release: Locomotive Records To Unveil PAUL SABU’S STRANGE MESSIAH February 12
New York, NY—(January 3 2008) --Locomotive Records, on February 12, 2008, will release the next chapter of Paul Sabu’s long and illustrious career. The Southern Californian has written, produced and played for such artists as David Bowie, Alice Cooper, Madonna, Shania Twain, John Waite and W.A.S.P. He has also worked on such feature film and television soundtracks as Baywatch, Beverly Hills 90210, Sex And The City, To Die For, Natural Born Killers and Assault Of The Killer Bimbos.
Strange Messiah features singer/songwriter/guitarist/producer/arranger Sabu with bassist Matthias Rethmann, drummer Gereon Homann, and four guitarists: Michael Voss, Ralf Heyne, Thorsten Koehne and Angel G. Schleife (Vinnie Appice co-wrote one track, “Jack Of All Trades”). The result is an AOR Dream. From the power ballads to the stadium anthems to the melodic hard rock drive, producer Michael Voss has embraced the vision to go back to Sabu’s roots of recording the drums in a huge room and slamming the sound spectrum to the “big-is-better” level, much like in the Led Zeppelin era. The live feel of the album is refreshing in an early Van Halen mode while pushing the modern envelope.
Track Listing
1) Strange Messiah
2) Dangerous Behavior
3) Blow By Blow
4) Ashes Of Wrong
5) Fighting To Die
6) Headbangers
7) Hey Look (But Don’t Touch)
8) Piece Of My Heart
9) Jack Of All Trades
10) Rock Your World

Press Release: Eyes Set To Kill Prepare For The Release of Reach; Announce Tour With The Hotness
EYES SET TO KILL PREPARE TO UNLEASH THEIR HIGHLY ANTICIPATED DEBUT ALBUM “REACH”
***
TOUR THE HOTTNESS SET FOR JANUARY
***
Arizona Based Screamo Outfit Has Become One Of MySpace’s Hottest Bands WithTheir Powerful Dual Lead Vocal Attack Of Melodic Vocals And Gut Wrenching Screams
***
After devastating audiences on national tours with Papa Roach, Kittie, Walls of Jericho, In This Moment and the Warped Tour, Arizona’s Eyes Set To Kill have put the finishing touches on their debut full-length, “Reach”, which lands in stores on February 19th, 2008 through BreakSilence Records.
“All of the hard work we’ve put into the band over the last couple years is finally starting to pay off,” says frontman Brandon Anderson. “Now it’s given us a chance to work that much harder to take things to the next level.”
Formed in 2004 by sisters Alexia and Anissa Rodriguez, Eyes Set to Kill have moved forward with huge strides quickly and not so quietly over the past three and a half years. Joining Alexia (vocals, lead guitar, piano) and Anissa (bass) and rounding out the five-piece are screamer and synth keyboardist Brandon Anderson, second guitarist Greg Kerwin and drummer Caleb Clifton. Eyes Set to Kill have sold more than 11,000 copies of their EP When Silence is Broken The Night Is Torn and DVD, A Day With Eyes Set to Kill combined, with the former reaching #2 and the latter #1 on the popular online retailer smartpunk.com and limited retail availability.
Rife with conflict and juxtaposing that conflict with promise, Reach is not a teenage angst-ridden twenty first century response to the Seattle scene of the nineties. And it’s more than a teenage coming of age story. Reach is the world’s welcome to a young band with a fresh voice. “The album is symbolic of what we want to achieve with our music. Most of the songs are about overcoming the obstacles that everyone faces in life. We hope that our music reaches out to the listener and can help them overcome some of the same issues that we’ve had to deal with in our lives,” Alexia notes, pointing to the more promising themes in the music. “We want to let people know that they can rise above the problems they face in their life; if our music can be that catalyst in someone’s life then that’s amazing.”
As can be expected, Reach exhibits a more mature Eyes Set to Kill – more mature in its songwriting and its lyrics. As the primary lyricist, Alexia tackles themes such as frustration and anxiety, relationships, isolation and correcting one’s past. Alexia shows a woman well beyond her young years throughout Reach; she shows a songwriter that writes differently than the rest, pushing boundaries lyrically when possible. “Only Holding On,” for example, is a battle between Alexia’s outer self and her conscience shown through the song’s verses, while the chorus is a third voice, her band, trying to ground her once again in the real reasons she performs music. “Young Blood Spills Tonight,” deals with the pain of divorce told from the perspectives of Alexia and her mother.

Press Release: BUSHWHACK BALANCES PROG WITH MELODIC ROCK ON SELF-TITLED DEBUT
It's uncommon that an all-instrumental rock band can keep the attention span of non-musicians. But due to their penchant for crafting memorable non-vocal melodies along with their impressive, expert chops, Bushwhack is one such band that manages to successfully walk that fine line - as evidenced by their recently issued self-titled debut (available online and through iTunes).
Comprised of guitarist Jamie Van Dyck, bassist Brandon Green, keyboardist/samplist Frank Sacramone, and drummer Ben Shanbrom, the New Haven, CT-based quartet has created an undeniable buzz on the strength of their debut, which features design by renowned artist Ioannis, as well as photographs by another renowned name in the rock world - Mark Weiss.
Upon inspection of Bushwhack's thirteen track debut - produced by Jeff Cannata - it quickly becomes apparent that the band posses a sound that brings to mind such acts (and chief Bushwhack influences) as Dream Theater and Porcupine Tree. However, like all rock bands that manage to stand out from the pack, Bushwhack transcend their influences, creating their own unique sound/style in the process - something that is becoming increasingly uncommon in rock's current climate.
But according to Sacramone, their non-vocal approach isn't something they deliberately set out to do. But rather, it happened naturally, and at this point, is a crucial ingredient to the Bushwhack sound. "We haven't really found a singer that has meshed with the band yet. Our band is comprised of four very close friends, and we need someone with a voice that would actually improve the melodic and tonal quality of the music." Van Dyck adds, "The idea of a vocalist, we figured would fall into our laps. Now, here we are three years later. We are kind of reaching a fork in the road - we can continue as an instrumental unit, or we add a vocalist. Until we find the right vocalist, we're probably not going to go down the vocalist path."
Which is just as well - judging from the strength of such tracks as "The Greatest Wall," "Sea of Tranquility," and "Introspection," the compositions easily stand on their own. "The album has a collection of songs from about a span of two/two and a half years," explains Sacramone. "It's pretty diverse. Our consistency and our ability to write throughout those two years - we have been able to pursue the sound we wanted and not change due to trends or anyone's wishing - accept our own."
And when it comes to the Bushwhack live experience, the band holds their own - even with the absence of a bonafide frontman, points out Sacramone. "Don't take us for not being able to put on a live show. A big part of our success is our live performance. You will never expect an instrumental band to act like a hardcore metal band jumping around the stage, with such sophisticated music. But that's exactly what we do. Ben destroys the drum set, I have a Keytar and run around - I even jump into the crowd, do 360's off stage! It's got a balance of fun and intensity at the same time."
Another factor has recently come into play for the band, as well. "We have to face the fact that we're college students," adds Van Dyck. "We have the decision to make - do we finish college, or is something big enough going to happen in the coming months that is going to cause us to take a year off - or even drop out?" Judging from the promise and strength of 'Bushwhack,' the prog metal world will benefit greatly if the members choose the latter.

Following the successful "My GRAMMY® Moment" segment with Justin Timberlake on last year's telecast, The Recording Academy, CBS Interactive and YouTube will present the second installment: "My GRAMMY Moment" 2008 for THE 50th ANNUAL GRAMMY AWARDS, scheduled to be broadcast live from STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, Sunday, Feb. 10 (8:00-11:30 PM, live ET/delayed PT) on the CBS Television Network.
Continuing its mission of discovering and nurturing music makers, this year The Academy is giving unsigned instrumentalists the opportunity to vie for a performance slot with current five-time GRAMMY-nominated rock band Foo Fighters. Interested musicians should upload onto YouTube (www.youtube.com/mygrammymoment) — the official online partner of "My GRAMMY Moment" 2008 — up to a 60-second solo performance video showcasing their talent. Performers and presenters for THE 50th ANNUAL GRAMMY AWARDS will be announced in the coming weeks.
As part of a five-and-a-half-week event, which begins today and culminates on the Grammy Awards telecast, The Academy will work with CBS Interactive and YouTube to conduct a nationwide search with musicians uploading user-generated performance videos. The top 45 artists will be determined by a Grammy Blue Ribbon Panel, with the public voting and representatives of The Recording Academy to narrow the field to up to 20 semi-finalists who will perform with the Foo Fighters as part of an orchestra. The voting public will eventually select one winner to be the featured instrumentalist. Users may log on to CBS.com or directly to YouTube to access the video submissions, video viewing and voting site http://youtube.com/mygrammymoment. "My GRAMMY Moment" 2008 content will also be available on the CBS Audience Network and its more than 200 online partners.
"This is an incredible opportunity for an up-and-coming musician to perform live on the GRAMMY stage on Music's Biggest Night™ with one of the most creative and successful rock bands today," said Jack Sussman, Executive Vice President, Specials, Music and Live Events, CBS.
"We are pleased to once again provide talented and unsigned musicians the chance to grace the GRAMMY stage," said Neil Portnow, President/CEO of The Recording Academy. "This year, we reach even deeper into the incredibly diverse musical community by giving an ensemble of instrumentalists the chance to participate in another special and unique 'GRAMMY Moment.' The Academy and our GRAMMY Foundation have made music education and career enhancement a priority 365 days of the year, and this interactive component is yet another reflection of our mission to directly engage young musicians with the opportunity of a lifetime."
"An appearance on the GRAMMY Awards is one of the highest honors a musical artist can achieve," said Ken Ehrlich, co-executive producer of the GRAMMY Awards. "By opening our show to a new generation of young musicians who will realize their dreams early in their career, we hope to inspire a generation of future music makers who will see that anything is possible."
"Bringing all these powerhouse brands together — CBS, The GRAMMYs, the Foo Fighters and YouTube — to allow fans to be an integral part of the Grammys experience, is what the interactive community is all about," said Joe Ferreira, Sr. Vice President, GM CBS Audience Network.
"From the classical cellist to the emerging rock star, YouTube provides a unique opportunity for all musicians to market and promote their music and directly engage their fans," said Chad Hurley, CEO and co-founder, YouTube. "'My GRAMMY Moment' 2008 is an amazing opportunity for a talented group of people to play on stage with one of the most iconic bands today, and I'm excited to see the performance."

Press Release: Hed Pe Announces Co-Headlining Tour With Kingspade
(HED)P.E Announces Co-Headlining Tour With Kingspade
* * *
Orange County, CA based Group, Have Toured With Ozzfest, Korn, Static-X, Slipknot and System of a Down
* * *
Orange County California's (hed)p.e. has announced the dates for their upcoming Heavy Hitters Tour featuring Kingspade, SubNoize Souljaz (featuring Big B, Dirtball), Dog Faced Gods and Insolence.
"What a way to start the new year! 2008 promises to be the best year (hed)p.e. has ever seen. We laid the ground work in the last two years, and we are experiencing such a swell right now that we feel so blessed by the youth of this planet earth,” says frontman Jared Gomes. “The Heavy Hitters tour, which is a co-headline tour with Kingspade, promises to be one of the freshest tours of early 2008. Kingspade is just straight dope and they possess the freshness of the Kottonmouth Kings, but with a nice hip-hop twist. We are just so stoked to be able to go on the road, and give the kids what they want; diversity. Because everyone knows they will never get it from those bitch-ass corporate tours. This is an official takeover!"
Founded in 1994, (hed)p.e. (the p.e. stands for “planet earth") was the brainchild of frontman Jared Gomes (a.k.a. M.C.U.D.), who aspired to create a band that fused the region's long-standing punk rock heritage with G-funk-inflected hip-hop - a sound he dubbed "G-punk." In 1997 the group released their now classic self-titled debut through Jive Records, and then hit the road with Ozzfest, Korn, Static-X, and System of a Down.
The band’s sophomore effort, Broke, followed in 2000 and unleashed the Top 30 Active Rock Single “Bartender,” while the band cemented their already explosive live show with tours alongside P.O.D, Godsmack and Slipknot. Returning in 2003, (hed)p.e. released Blackout and once again scored a big hit with the album’s title track, while 2005 saw the group stick up the middle-finger at censorship "Only in Amerika". 2006 saw the band sign with independent powerhouse Suburban Noize for the release of the punk-reggae influenced "Back 2 Base X" and emerge as one of the scene's most innovative bands.
(hed)p.e. is currently touring in support of their sixth studio album, “Insomnia”. The album is the group’s heaviest record in nearly a decade, returning to the group’s hardcore roots. The album’s lead single “Suffa”
quickly lit up request lines at Sirius Satellite Radio’s Hard Attack and become one of the most requested tracks alongside high profile groups like Down, As I Lay Dying, Machine Head, DevilDriver and Megadeth. The group’s politically charged video for “Suffa” can be seen online at www.revver.com/watch/319929/flv/affiliate/25210
“We’ve been going through this evolution for like two and half years when myself and Jackson were embracing seventies punk like the Sex Pistols and Clash. That’s why Back 2 Base X seemed like such a departure, because of the punk influence,” says Gomes. “On this album Jackson combined that with a Slayer, thrash influence and came up with a whole new thing. I love this.”

Press Release: VELVET REVOLVER UNABLE TO PERFORM FOUR SCHEDULED CONCERTS IN JAPAN
AS IMMIGRATION OFFICIALS THERE HAVE DENIED THE BAND'S REQUEST FOR VISAS
VELVET REVOLVER were looking forward to their upcoming tour of Japan: a series of four concerts--to promote their current album LIBERTAD--between November 26 and November 30, encompassing the cities of Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya and Yokohama.
For the band, the upcoming trek was the opportunity to reconnect with their fans in Japan, where the band tour has toured before--without incident--back in 2005.
But now it's a different story as VELVET REVOLVER's request for visas has just been denied.
The increasingly tough Japanese immigration officials are taking exception with the backgrounds of various band members, which have included arrests. The band is appealing the decision of the officials--which is ironic given that LIBERTAD is Spanish for "liberty" and "freedom"--but this process will unfortunately take months to sort out.
"We want to apologize to our fans in Japan that we won't be able to perform our scheduled concerts," VELVET REVOLVER said in a group statement. "We don't understand why the authorities won't give us visas when they granted them for us in 2005 for what was a successful tour and a great experience. We love Japan and look forward to our return there."
VELVET REVOLVER will proceed with their Australian tour that begins on December 4 in Brisbane. Upon its return to the U.S., the bandlead vocalist SCOTT WEILAND, guitarist SLASH, bassist DUFF McKAGAN , drummer MATT SORUM and guitarist DAVE KUSHNERwill headline Wednesday, December 12 at the Gibson Amphitheatre. This showwith Alice In Chainswas originally set for Friday, October 26 at the outdoor Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Irvine, CA but was postponed due to the devastating Southern California wildfires. Press Release: MY AMERICAN HEART ANNOUNCE "THE CALIFORNIA LOVE TOUR" HEADLINING TREK
DATES LAUNCH DECEMBER 8 IN ANAHEIM AND WRAP WITH A HOMETOWN SAN DIEGO SHOW ON DECEMBER 15
MY AMERICAN HEART has announced "The California Love Tour," a string of headlining tour dates with A Change Of Pace, Everybody Else and The White Tie Affair supporting. These shows--in connection with the band's HIDING INSIDE THE HORRIBLE WEATHER (Warcon Entertainment) CD--follow the band's fall tour with Quietdrive and kick off December 8 at Chain Reaction. The trek wraps at Epicentre in the band's hometown of San Diego on December 15.
Hiding Inside the Horrible Weather was produced by James Paul Wisner (Dashboard Confessional, Underoath, The Academy Is) and features the lead single "The Shake (Awful Feeling)," which Kerrang! praised as "sugary sweet pop, with a dance-tastic chorus" (10/20/07). The metaphorically titled disc--implying that beauty inherently lies in all things--is a striking mix of hooky, driving rock, engaging pop sensibilities and introspective acoustic ballads.
Catch MY AMERICAN HEART--LARRY SOLIMAN (vocals), JESSE BARRERA (guitar/vocals), DUSTIN HOOK (bass), STEVEN OIRA (drums), MATTHEW VANGASBECK (guitar)--on "The California Love Tour" in the following cities. Also, look for the band's version of the 2Pac classic "California Love" on an upcoming compilation CD in the near future.

Press Release: THE SMASHING PUMPKINS RETURN TO EUROPE FOR EARLY 2008 HEADLINING ARENA TOUR LAUNCHING JANUARY 27 IN SERBIA
THE SMASHING PUMPKINS have announced they will return to the U.K. and Europe for a major arena headlining tour launching January 27 at Arena in Belgrade, Serbia and encompassing shows in Hungary, the Czech Republic, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, France, Ireland, Scotland, England, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland, where the trek wraps March 3 in Helsinki.
This will mark the band's third round of overseas dates in connection with their critically acclaimed ZEITGEIST album (Martha's Music/Reprise), which entered the album charts in July in the Top Five in the U.S. (#2), Canada (#1), New Zealand (#1), the U.K. (#4), Italy (#5) and Switzerland (#5), with more Top Ten debuts in Germany (#7), Holland (#7) and Australia (#8). In the U.S and Canada, a special configuration of ZEITGEISTawarded a four-star rating by Rolling Stoneis now available at Best Buy stores with three bonus tracks from the album's original sessions ("Death From Above," "Ma Belle," "Stellar") and a bonus DVD with a 20-minute documentary, Inside the Zeitgeist, as well as the music videos for "Tarantula" and "That's the Way (My Love Is)."
THE SMASHING PUMPKINS' extensive 2007 tour schedule commenced in Europe with an intimate sold-out show at the historic, elegantly appointed Grand Rex in Paris (May 22) and wrapped with another sold-out small venue gig at Sheperds Bush Empire in London (June 19). In between those shows, the band headlined the major summer European festivals. Next, they returned to the U.S. for a special performance at Live Earth on July 7 at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford NJ; residencies at the Orange Peel in Asheville, NC (nine shows between 6/23-7/5) and the historic Fillmore (11 shows between 7/15-8/1) in San Francisco, CA; as well as headlining slots at the two Virgin Festivals in North America: August 5 at Pimlico Park in Washington, D.C. and September 8 at Toronto Island Park in Canada.
Following the D.C. performance, the band returned overseas to headline festivals in Belgium, England, Greece and Turkey. The Pumpkins' fall tourtheir first full-scale North American tour since 2000has been highlighted by multiple night engagements in Vancouver, Boston, Philadelphia and Atlanta plus headlining performances at the massive KROQ "L.A. Invasion" show at the Home Depot Center in Los Angeles on 9/15 and the Voodoo Music Experience in New Orleans on 10/27. The band wraps its North American tour November 18 in Dallas.
On the road, main singer-songwriter and guitarist Billy Corgan and drummer Jimmy Chamberlinwith Jeff Schroeder (guitar), Ginger Reyes (bass) and Lisa Harriton (keyboards)have been performing wide-ranging sets with an "enveloping epic force," as Richard Cromelin noted in the Los Angeles Times (7/17/07). Writing in the News and Record (Greensboro, NC) last week, Parke Puterbaugh noted: "Their noisy intensity, abetted by a stunning light show, made for an evening with some deliriously captivating peaks...The second half of the concert was the best hour of rock music I've witnessed all year, and among the most memorable ever" (11/10/07).
Here are more critical quotes from the road:
"The Smashing Pumpkins were bold and beautiful. Corgan, specifically, is at peak powers thanks to a renewed love affair with the electric guitar. A pulverizing one-two punch of "United States" and "Bullet with Butterfly Wings'' opened the show. Corgan sang, "The end draws nigh" and "Revolution!" during "United States," a standout selection from comeback album "Zeitgeist."
--David Lindquist, THE INDIANAPOLIS STAR, October 7, 2007
"Corgan continues to evolve as a guitarist, and he treated the Phoenix crowd to impressive leads, starting with the show-opening United States, from the band's new album Zeitgeist. That included a twisted take on a passage from The Star-Spangled Banner. Corgan later traded screeching leads with [Jeff] Schroeder on both Starz and Zero. The duel continued on Glass and the Ghost Children, with Corgan stepping forward to fill the Dodge with piercing notes which morphed into an extended intro to 33."
--Larry Rogers, THE ARIZONA REPUBLIC, September 19, 2007
"There was Billy Corgan...shooting sparks from his guitar and snarling and crooning...Drummer Jimmy Chamberlin proved still adept at anchoring a groove with both thunder and delicacy. Couple that with a sometimes blindingly inventive light show and a vaunted catalog of songs that careened from venomous invective to poetic abstraction played with energy and care..."
--Sarah Rodman, BOSTON GLOBE, September 15, 2007
"Soon came knew songs from this year's 'Zeitgeist'a brilliant 'United States' included Corgan's warped, ironic riff on the 'Star Spangled Banner.' In the astounding 'Heavy Metal Machine,' Corgan's 'Trapped in the Closet' style epic, angst and salvation were condensed into a thrill ride of blistering riffs and lyrical revelations that were insightful rather than indulgent. In the encore, the pretty pop balm of 'Cherub Rock' smoothed the edges of Corgan's troubled psyche. Ours too. "
--METRO BOSTON NEWS, October 15, 2007
"as powerful as ever."
--Zach Lau, PITTSBURGH POST GAZETTE, October 11, 2007
"It [the show] was a convincing statement of a band reclaiming its place after an extended time away."
--Gary Graff, OAKLAND PRESS (Michigan), October 8, 2007
