RESERVATION ROAD
ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK
TO BE RELEASED BY LAKESHORE RECORDS
Soundtrack Features Original Music Composed by Mark Isham
(October 16, 2007- Los Angeles, CA) Lakeshore Records will release the original motion picture soundtrack for RESERVATION ROAD on October 16, 2007. The soundtrack features original music by Mark Isham.
Emmy and Grammy Award winning composer Mark Isham has composed over 50 film scores and several albums of electric jazz, classic acoustic jazz, and New Age music. Born in New York, Isham began his career as a trumpet player for the Oakland and San Francisco Symphonies and the San Francisco Opera Orchestra. He went on to play in jazz and rock bands and in his 20s explored electronic music.
Isham began combining his interests in classical jazz and electronic music and turned to composing for film and television. His film credits include films like A RIVER RUNS THROUGH IT, THE COOLER, LIFE AS A HOUSE, OCTOBER SKY, and MOONLIGHT MILE. He has continued to enjoy parallel careers simultaneously releasing interesting and intricate jazz and new age recordings while remaining one of Hollywood's most sought after composers.
The dramatic thriller from two-time Academy Award nominated writer/director Terry George (HOTEL RWANDA), RESERVATION ROAD is based on the critically acclaimed novel by John Burnham Schwartz. The film is a tale of anger, revenge, and great courage, which follows two fathers as their families and lives converge. The film stars Joaquin Phoenix, Jennifer Connelly, Elle Fanning, Mark Ruffalo and Mira Sorvino.
Focus Features presents RESERVATION ROAD, in theaters in limited release on October 19, 2007. The Lakeshore Records soundtrack, featuring the score by Mark Isham will be available in stores on October 16, 2007.

Press Release: "30 DAYS OF NIGHT" SCORE SET FOR OCT. 30 RELEASE VIA IPECAC RECORDINGS
"30 DAYS OF NIGHT" SCORE SET FOR OCT. 30 RELEASE VIA IPECAC RECORDINGS
BRIAN REITZELL, COMPOSER BEHIND INNOVATIVE SCORES FOR "LOST IN TRANSLATION" AND "THE VIRGIN SUICIDES," CREATES HIS FIRST HORROR SCORE
LOS ANGELES, Oct. 9 – Brian Reitzell, the former drummer of Red Kross and Air, took an untraditional approach while creating the score to David Slade's vampire-laden film, "30 Days Of Night," he turned to a pottery wheel.
"I was trying to figure out the different sounds and colors and instruments to use," explains Reitzell. "I thought if someone came at me with an ax or was trying to kill me or eat me, that was going to be such a horrific experience and was going to be totally new and unfamiliar, so I didn't think what I was going to hear was something like an orchestra." So he gerry rigged the pottery wheel with tubing purchased from Home Depot, affixed various items like a drum stick or felt mallet, mic'd the contraption and stood back. "The pottery wheel can spin up to 280 rpm," he says. "You have to wear goggles and body armor. I was scared to death."
Reitzell came to worldwide attention over the past decade for his fresh approach to the art of scoring as well as his ability to draw revered and sought after talent into the fold of movie music. Take for instance My Bloody Valentine's Kevin Shields who signed on to work with Reitzell for the soundtrack to "Lost In Translation" after leaving fans awaiting new music from the guitarist in excess of ten years. "There are no rules," Reitzell says. "I'm hired to do the music, whether that means I'm picking from my record collection or collaborating with Air (as he did on 'The Virgin Suicides') or Spoon's Britt Daniel (for "Stranger than Fiction) or scoring. Whatever it takes for us to get the music that we envision for the film, that's what I'm going to do."
Up next, Reitzell will reunite with Air's Jean-Benoit Dunckel and Nicolas Godin, with whom he scored "The Virgin Suicides," to compose music for a non-existent movie. "It's probably a sci-fi- type film, but it's very emotional, maybe someone trapped in a spaceship kind of thing," he says. "We're conceptualizing it now. It might be that we take a book or take some images and just start to score to those images and then a film will find us."
The 17 track score arrives in stores on Oct. 30 via Ipecac Recordings with a digital version online as of Oct. 16.

Press Release: THE "MYTHBUSTERS" CRASH TEST DUMMY
DISCOVERY CHANNEL PRESS RELEASE
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
October 3, 2007
----------------------------------------------------
WORLD EXCLUSIVE!!!
THE METEORIC RISE, SHOCKING FALL AND TRIUMPHANT RETURN OF BUSTER,
THE "MYTHBUSTERS" CRASH TEST DUMMY, TOLD FOR FIRST TIME IN "BUSTER: BEHIND THE STORY"
----------------------------------------------------
(Silver Spring, Md.) –- In a world online exclusive, Discovery Channel finally breaks the silence surrounding the rise and fall of Buster, the notorious crash test dummy of MYTHBUSTERS fame.
Discovery.com's "Buster: Behind the Story" will reveal all the sordid details, including never-before-seen exclusive interviews with coworkers and family. The shocking story is told at Discovery.com/Buster, along with bloopers and full versions of Buster's early commercial work.
Narrated by Jim Forbes, of VH1's "Behind the Music," "Buster: Behind the Story" follows the "hunk made of junk" from his humble beginnings in Kentucky to his big break on Discovery Channel's hit series MYTHBUSTERS.
In the early days, Buster enjoyed the golden life as America's favorite crash test dummy, but his fame soon put him on a crash course to reality. By 2005, Buster's demands got bigger and crazier -– personal trailers, stunt doubles for the stunt dummy and an endless stream of starlets –- and rumors of discord on the MYTHBUSTERS set rocked the tabloids. Eventually, hard living catapulted Buster to rock bottom, and only an intervention by his costars returned him to superstardom.
Recalls castmate Tory Belleci, "He wanted to come back. You could see it in his eyes. At least, you know, where his eyes should be."
In addition to Belleci and castmates Kari Byron and Grant Imahara, other key people in Buster's life speak exclusively and for the first time to "Buster: Behind the Story," including his parents, former neighbor Ol' Man Gabriel and the Hollywood producer who first spotted him in a used car commercial.
"Buster: Behind the Story" also tells the tale of Buster’' hard work and the support behind his big comeback. Says Imahara, "He's a pro. There'll never be another one like him. Well ... not until we have to build a new one."
Sponsored by CDW, "Buster: Behind the Story" is found exclusively online at Discovery.com/Buster.

94- year-old DORIS “GRANNY D” HADDOCK’S RUN FOR U.S. SENATE
WHEN THE HBO DOCUMENTARY DEBUTS OCT. 18
Doris “Granny D” Haddock is America’s oldest political newcomer. At age 89, she refused to let arthritis and emphysema get in her way, lacing up her sneakers and walking across America to rally against the influence of big money in elections. Entering the race just four months before Election Day, Haddock and her motley crew of political aces crafted a feisty, grassroots campaign that defied all expectations. RUN GRANNY RUN tells the remarkable story of Haddock’s unlikely transformation from renowned citizen activist to novice political candidate.
Proving that age, sex, and social standing don’t necessarily determine political campaigns, Run, Granny, Run shows the “everyman” (woman) can make a difference when it debuts THURSDAY, OCT. 18 at 9:00 p.m. ET, exclusively on HBO.

AFM’s festival partner AFI FEST 2007 presented by Audi will take place from November 1 to 11. Together, the two events represent the largest gathering of film industry professionals and the only combined film market-festival event in North America.
About the AFM
During AFM, the business of independent motion picture production and distribution - a truly collaborative process - reaches its peak every year, when more than 8,000 industry leaders converge in Santa Monica for eight days of deal-making, screenings, seminars, red carpet premieres, networking and parties. Participants come from over 70 countries and include acquisition and development executives, agents, attorneys, directors, distributors, festival directors, financiers, film commissioners, producers, writers, the world’s press all those who provide services to the motion picture industry.
Founded in 1981, the AFM has become the premiere global marketplace where Hollywood’s decision-makers and trendsetters all gather under one roof. Unlike a film festival, the AFM is a marketplace where production and distribution deals are closed. In just eight days, more than $800 million in deals will be sealed — on both completed films and those that haven’t started shooting yet — making AFM the must-attend industry event.
The AFM is produced by the Independent Film & Television Alliance (IFTA), the trade association representing the world’s producers and distributors of independent motion pictures and television programs. More information can be found at http://www.ifta-online.org/afm.
About AFI FEST
Celebrating its 21st year as a program of the American Film Institute, AFI FEST 2007 presented by Audi will take place November 1-11, featuring international competitions of new films from emerging filmmakers, as well as global showcases of the latest work from great film masters and nightly red-carpet gala premieres. Kicking off the awards season each year, AFI FEST offers a crucial avenue of exposure to the entertainment community, while providing appreciative audiences with a festive atmosphere and the very best of world film, right in the center of the film capital of the world. AFI FEST is the only FIAPF-accredited film festival in the United States. Additional information about AFI FEST is available at www.AFI.com.

Available for Download on October 2, 2007
SAN FRANCISCO– October 2, 2007– The Moxie Institute is pleased to announce that the award-winning film festival hit short film (Sundance &Tribeca) "The Tribe" will be released commercially online for the first time, exclusively on the iTunes Store. Starting today, October 2, the extraordinary and provocative 18-minute short film, which traces the Barbie doll’s Jewish roots to shed light on what it means to be an American Jew in the 21st Century, will be available for downloading for $1.99.
Written, directed and produced by Shlain and narrated by Peter Coyote (E.T., Bitter Moon), "The Tribe" asks “What can the most successful doll on the planet show us about being Jewish today?” Winner of 8 awards including Audience and Grand Jury Prizes and selected at over 60 festivals this past year, "The Tribe" mixes old-school narration with a new-school visual style. It weaves together archival footage, graphics, animation, Barbie dioramas, and slam poetry to take audiences on an electric ride through the complex history of both the iconic doll and the Jewish people -- from Biblical times to present day.
“Independent filmmakers working online are like scientists experimenting with a network of a billion people online” says Shlain. “I have always admired Apple’s aesthetic. To have Apple select our film for release is a great honor. iTunes offers a new ecosystem for independent filmmakers.”
Honored by Newsweek as one of the "Women Shaping the 21st Century," Tiffany Shlain is founder of The Webby Awards, co-founder of the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences and an award-winning filmmaker. Her films including The Tribe and Life, Liberty &The Pursuit of Happiness, have been selected at over 85 film festivals around the world, including Sundance, Tribeca, and Rotterdam winning over 20 awards and have been translated into six languages.
