Hollywood, California's VIPER ROOM returns to New York City Thursday, October 18 through Saturday, October 20, 2007 with ONITSUKA TIGER'S VIPER ROOM NYC to show CMJ attendees and New York City natives how one of the smallest rock clubs on earth continuously manages to make a significant impact on the music industry. The Viper Room will be transporting its world famous Sunset Strip music experience to New York City at CMJ 2007. Over three days, the venue will take over Fontanta's nightclub, located at 105 Eldridge St. between Broome and Grand in the trendy Lower East Side--a neighborhood that "can't shed its reputation as a rocker haven" (Paper Magazine). New York Magazine describes Fontana's as a venue that is "big enough to accommodate the large, loud groups," while maintaining a clientele that is "refreshingly relaxed and attitude free."

This year's ONITSUKA TIGER'S VIPER ROOM NYC at CMJ--sponsored by Onitsuka Tiger, Esquire Magazine, Ashdown, DW Drums, BC Ethic, Marshall, Gen Art, Ashe Advertising and Who's Your Daddy Energy Drink with more to be announced--will feature some of the club's most prominent acts, who are sure to pack the house with the most gregarious crowd New York City has to offer.

The first night kicks off on Thursday, October 18 with LA based quartet The Ruse who have been recording their third album with producer Danny Saber, famous for his work with the Rolling Stones, U2 and David Bowie. Their captivating songs have been featured in several primetime shows and nine songs on MTV's hit show "The Hills." The night continues with The Working Title, a band hailing from South Carolina who, with their hard-hitting choruses and infectious guitars, has been labeled as "the band to watch" by Alternative Press. Nashville natives Luna Halo will release their long-awaited LP on Columbia this October. Executive produced by the renowned Rick Rubin and produced by talented Neal Avron, this masterful album is full of driving rock beats and edgy guitar solos. The boys of Phonograph are no strangers to the New York music scene. Their sound is new yet strangely familiar, "incorporating elements of electronic music, jazz and British shoegaze" (Paste Magazine). Phonograph digs deep into the musical roots to create a new sound with an old taste. Last but not least, fresh off of the Muse tour, Immigrant are certain to impress with the raw emotional substance captured in every track of their album.

Friday, October 19 will feature stellar sets from Low vs. Diamond, an LA-based five-piece looked after by the Killers' manager Robert Reynolds and signed to the Killers' original UK label. With their driving melodies, soulful optimism, and an enormous stage presence, Low vs. Diamond are nothing short of "a wonderful piece of Indie euphoria" (The Fly). Austin natives Oliver Future, who are now more than just regulars of the Viper Room, deliver neo-psychedelic pop rock, soulful lyrics, and raw emotion reminiscent of the Arcade Fire. Philadelphia's Liam and Me captures the audience with their catchy pop riffs and undeniable dance beats. Le Rev, led by a female vocalist and onstage sex siren C.C. Sheffield, have made a mark in Los Angles with their sexy soulful sound. Additionally, Ana Calderon of DIM MAK Records will be spinning her vinyl all night long.

The three nights of "Onitsuka Tiger's VIPER ROOM NYC" at CMJ wrap up Saturday, October 20 with Hollywood's zaniest rock outfit The Ringers, keeping alive the tradition of what rock 'n roll music should be--sleazy, sexual and dangerous. Trouble Andrew, a worldwide top-ranking professional snowboarder with numerous national titles and World Cup victories, took a slight break from his snowboard and the mountains in order to create a sound that can be best described as "crunk rock." Adding to the spirit of boarding, ASG, backed by Volcom Entertainment, creates a fusion of punk and metal, a sound you definitely wouldn't expect to come from three local surfers. Norway's infamous Big Bang is a big bad whirlwind of raw, overdriven rock 'n roll that landed the opening slot on the Raconteurs' U.K. tour last year after Meg White spotted them play at the Viper Room. Finally, Lady Sinatra, a loud, heavy, dirty, noisy, messed up band from Los Angeles, will rock the house. The music they make represents the environment they inhabit: ugly, beautiful, self indulgent, and chaotic.

Welcome to the Sunset Strip.
